Mould & Indoor Air Quality
Probably two of the most talked about concerns of late deal with mould in buildings and the quality of indoor air.
Mould has certain needs if it is to take hold. It needs organic material like paper products (e.g. books, drywall, cardboard boxes) or wood (e.g. studs, joists) to feed on. In addition, it also needs moisture. For example, water can penetrate into a building through a leaky roof or a crack in the foundation wall. Perhaps condensation has formed in a cold cellar or from opening basement windows in the summer.
